2009-10 CCFIT Steering Committee charge

The steering committee has a clear advisory and review role regarding significant IT-related plans and new IT intensive projects. Specific elements of the charge to the steering committee include:

  • Review IET priorities and plans, including alignment with budget
  • Provide general review of academic impact of administrative IT issues
  • Help ensure appropriate campus discussion of IT investments (quarterly)
  • Work with Administrative IT Governing Board and Coordinating Council to ensure timely and broad input into domain‐related issues, plans, and priorities
  • Provide specific review of IT‐related proposals with significant anticipated impacts on our campus community (per Administrative Computing Policy PPM 200‐45) on a quarterly basis (or more frequently where appropriate), and recommend effective processes for such review
  • Promote ongoing, two‐way communications among constituents and IET

To fulfill this charge, the steering committee will meet once a month for an hour, or more often as needed. It will be important for steering committee members to be committed to the time investment and frequency of meetings so the group can delve into sufficient detail and provide substantive advice on priorities and budgetary matters.
