Subcommittee on California Virtual University (CVU)
 |
Charge
The charge is basically to answer the question: "What role should UC Davis play in the California Virtual University?" and to develop a plan for how any role envisioned would actually be played out. The subcommittee would need to consider whether UCD should offer courses through the CVU, and, if so, how we would go about developing guidelines and procedures for (I) giving students credit for such courses including students registered at UCD and other students and (II) recognizing faculty and staff effort in producing and delivering such courses. Similarly, the subcommittee would need to consider whether UCD should recognize courses taken by UCD students through the CVU. If so, then what kind of mechanism would be needed to implement this. Obviously, the Council is looking for high-level recommendations which will undoubtedly have to be followed by detailed consultations and discussions about mechanisms. The subcommittee is encouraged to consult with Campus and CVU constituencies as it sees t.
